ABOUT US:
Astro Mechanica is a vertically integrated aerospace company building a faster, more connected future. Our mission is to democratize high-speed flight by making supersonic travel flexible, accessible, and sustainable. We believe that rapid, on-demand, point-to-point global mobility will become the new standard for moving people and goods across the planet. To achieve this, we are integrating our advanced airframe and engine technologies—which include Duality™, our proprietary dual-use propulsion system—with a new flight operations model to make supersonic transport as efficient and economical as commercial air travel is today. In the near term, we are developing adaptable, high-speed systems to close aircraft performance gaps for the United States government.
WHO WE ARE:
We're a team of hardcore engineers who live and breathe aerospace. We’re generalists who each have subject matter expertise and operate in a flat organizational structure. We move fast and build world-changing technology in a pragmatic and competent workplace culture.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are a systems engineer with deep aerospace expertise, motivated by solving hard problems in national defense and advancing next-generation air dominance. You thrive in multi-disciplinary environments, bringing together air vehicle, propulsion, mission systems, avionics, survivability, and ground segment systems and subsystems to deliver integrated combat-ready capabilities that address operational and system requirements. You are rigorous in requirements management and decomposition, fluent in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering methods, and comfortable presenting complex methodologies and systems engineering products to senior defense stakeholders. You are motivated by closing air dominance gaps and ensuring the U.S. maintains an edge in strategic competition.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Experience in requirements development, decomposition, and requirements traceability including operational requirements and key performance parameter (KPPs) decomposition into system / subsystem requirements and technical performance measures (TPMs) which trace to test requirements and critical test parameters.
Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, etc.).
Experience integrating air vehicle, propulsion, mission systems, vehicle management, survivability, and ground segment software and hardware systems and subsystems pursuant to rigorous systems engineering methodologies and interface definition
Experience with mission systems integration, internal subsystems interface design, and external interface design
Experience with systems engineering, requirements management, system design and development, system integration, prototyping, and test & evaluation
Experience with SysML, DoDAF, and unified architectural framework profile (UAFP) to support integrated DODAF-compliant SW and HW architectures and MBSE
Experience developing various MBSE artifacts for autonomous collaborative platform systems including operational and system viewpoints, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, block diagrams, parametric diagrams, etc.
Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software (i.e.,SparxEA, Rhapsody, etc.)
Excellent communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to drive cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
