support long-term landscape resilience. By combining mechanized operations, operational

The Role
BurnBot is seeking an experienced Regional Director to lead regional field operations and serve
as the senior operational leader responsible for execution, workforce leadership, safety,
logistics, and production performance within an assigned geographic region.
The Regional Director is the operational heartbeat of BurnBot field implementation. This role
serves as the critical integration point between Program Directors, Project Managers,
Operations leadership, field crews, and BurnBot Intelligence systems.
Regional Directors are responsible for translating project plans and operational objectives into
safe, efficient, and sustainable field execution while maintaining alignment with BurnBot
operational standards, reporting systems, and regional production goals.
This role requires strong operational leadership, workforce development capability, equipment
and logistics coordination, customer engagement, and the ability to lead in fast-moving
operational environments.

Core Responsibilities
Regional Execution Leadership
Lead all regional field operations across forestry, fuels, infrastructure and wildfire support
Projects
Own regional production, safety, quality, and operational performance
Ensure successful implementation of project objectives, schedules, and operational
Plans
Validate operational readiness, workforce capability, and execution feasibility
Workforce Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop foremen, crew leaders, operators, and field personnel
Support hiring, onboarding, workforce development, performance management, and
advancement pathways
Build a strong operational culture centered on professionalism, accountability,
communication, and safety
Promote workforce sustainability, operator readiness, and long-term employee success
Operational Readiness & Logistics
Maintain regional readiness across crews, fleet, trailers, facilities, equipment,
consumables, and support systems
Coordinate equipment positioning, resource allocation, and operational logistics
Partner with Fleet and Operations leadership on preventative maintenance, repairs, and
equipment utilization
Coordinate resource sharing and operational support across adjacent regions when
Required
Project & Program Integration
Execute project plans in accordance with guidelines provided by Project Managers and
Program Directors
Support operational planning, implementation, scheduling, and execution forecasting
Surface operational risks, production limitations, staffing concerns, and logistical
constraints early and transparently
Participate in Go / No-Go discussions and operational decision-making processes
Maintain close coordination with:
Safety & Compliance
Own regional safety culture and operational risk management
Ensure compliance with BurnBot safety systems, OSHA requirements, environmental
regulations, and agency-specific standards
Conduct operational briefings, incident reviews, lessons learned, and corrective action
Implementation
Maintain operational discipline and safe production standards across all field activities
Intelligence, Reporting & Transparency
Ensure accurate field reporting through BurnBot Intelligence systems and Ember
Workflows
Maintain visibility on production, workforce utilization, equipment readiness, operational
constraints, and project status
Support operational forecasting, production planning, and company-wide reporting
Requirements
Ensure field intelligence flows effectively from operations to projects, programs, and
company leadership
Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
Maintain strong working relationships with customers, agencies, utilities, tribal entities,
contractors, and local stakeholders
Represent BurnBot professionally in regional operational environments
Support customer communication, operational coordination, and field-level relationship
Management
Reinforce BurnBot credibility through safe, professional, and effective execution
Experience
Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in forestry, fuels, fire,
infrastructure, heavy equipment, or field operations
Demonstrated experience managing multi-crew operational environments
Experience leading equipment-intensive field operations safely and productively
Strong understanding of operational logistics, workforce coordination, and production
Management
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Fire Science, Operations
Management, or related field — or equivalent operational experience
technical & Operational Skills
Strong operational leadership and decision-making capability
Experience managing equipment utilization, production objectives, and operational
readiness
Strong understanding of safety systems, field operations, and operational risk
management
Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and rapidly changing environments
Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Travel & Physical Requirements
Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned region
Ability to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, smoke exposure, varying
weather conditions, and extended operational periods
Ability to support field operations during peak operational tempo and emergency
response situations
Preferred Qualifications
NWCG qualifications and active wildland fire experience
Experience with mechanized forestry or fuels operations
Experience with mastication systems, heavy equipment, utility vegetation management,
or prescribed fire operations
Existing relationships with USFS, BLM, state agencies, tribal entities, or utility partners
Experience building or scaling regional operational programs
Familiarity with operational intelligence and reporting systems
Work Environment & Compensation
Environment
This is a hybrid operational leadership role combining field oversight, workforce leadership,
operational coordination, and administrative responsibilities. Significant field presence is
expected during active operations, implementation periods, and regional mobilizations.
Compensation
Salary range: $140,000 - 170,000 based on experience, region, and operational scope.
BurnBot considers several factors when determining compensation, including operational
experience, leadership capability, regional complexity, certifications, and technical expertise.
