About This Role:

Crusoe Energy is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team at the Longhorn Power Plant in Abilene, TX. The primary purpose of this role is to improve workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through meticulous planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, and equipment access.

You will be responsible for scheduling daily and weekly work, as well as managing planned outages while interfacing with Maintenance and Operations teams to determine necessary resources. This is a full-time position critical to the efficient operation and reliability of our power generation infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Work Order Management: Review new work requests daily to establish priorities and develop comprehensive work order packages, including drawings, instructions, procedures, and material lists.

  • Outage Coordination: Act as the coordinator for both planned and unplanned outages, creating detailed schedules in MS Project or P6 and establishing contingency priorities for forced outage situations.

  • Maintenance Planning: Plan preventive and corrective activities for maintenance personnel and administer the maintenance plan within the CMMS (Oracle Fusion) to ensure equipment is serviced per vendor recommendations.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Conduct regular planning meetings with the Plant Management team and liaise with managers, vendors, and engineers to discuss project progress and address issues.

  • Procurement & Inventory: Facilitate the procurement of necessary parts and equipment, retrieve items from inventory, and support warehouse activities including receiving, staging, and performing inventory counts.

  • Operational Interface: Interface with the Operations Team to determine required project conditions and appropriate work isolation, including the preparation of lockout/tagouts.

  • Technical Support: Support and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement the preventive maintenance program by providing trend information and failure records to management.

  • Vendor Management: Produce work plans and help develop work scope documents for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) for vendor-supplied bids.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a power plant or industrial process facility is required.

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Technical Knowledge: General knowledge of power plant operations and the ability to understand complex drawings, diagrams, and procedures specific to the area of assignment.

  • Program Expertise: Required proficiency in Oracle Fusion (CMMS), MS Project or P6, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Compliance & Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage complex compliance risks and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

  • Operational Flexibility: Willing and able to work in loud, dirty, or extreme temperature environments and work overtime, holidays, and weekends on short notice.

  • Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

  • Advanced Education: Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

  • Professional Certification: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Specific Power Plant Expertise: Experience in the operation and maintenance of simple cycle or combined cycle independent power plants (IPPs).

  • Technical Background: Prior experience as a power plant mechanic or equivalent and formal apprenticeship training.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $45 - $60/HR + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
