Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role:

The Category Manager – Contract Services is responsible for developing, executing, and managing the strategic sourcing framework for Crusoe’s construction and engineering needs to support global computing infrastructure. This role will have a direct and immediate impact on our ability to scale by ensuring our supplier agreements are commercially sound, risk-mitigated, and optimized for long-term growth. You will act as a strategic consultant and subject matter expert across the organization, bridging the gap between technical requirements and commercial execution.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of complex construction and services agreements for power generation projects, including EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), MSAs, MPSAs, and engineering services contracts with civil, electrical, and mechanical design firms.

  • Commercial Strategy: Provide strategic guidance on Total Cost of Ownership and commercial trade-offs specific to power plant construction — balancing fixed-price EPC risk allocation, cost-plus structures, and performance-based incentive mechanisms to protect project budgets and operational timelines.

  • Evergreen Management: Manage and audit standing agreements with engineering firms, general contractors, and specialty power contractors, ensuring critical protections — such as Termination for Convenience, delay liquidated damages, and performance guarantees — are consistently embedded and current across all active contracts.

  • Supplier Onboarding & Selection: Lead RFP and qualification processes for EPC contractors, civil and electrical engineering firms, and specialty power construction vendors. Evaluate contractors on safety record, bonding capacity, power generation experience, and ability to execute at Crusoe's build pace.

  • Compliance & Monitoring: Monitor contractor compliance against executed agreements with a focus on milestone schedules, scope adherence, change order management, and mechanical/electrical performance guarantees tied to power generation output and reliability.

  • Spend Analytics: Conduct thorough spend analysis across the power construction contract portfolio and develop metrics and reporting tools to track cost performance, change order frequency, and contract risk — surfacing opportunities to reduce cost and improve execution predictability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Power Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure that technical power plant specifications — including interconnection requirements, fuel system design, and generation output targets — are accurately and protectively captured in commercial contract language.

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement contract workflow improvements and system solutions that streamline how the Power Group executes construction agreements, manages change orders, and closes out projects at scale.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or contract management, ideally within a fast-paced technology or infrastructure environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the differences between Consulting and Professional Service agreements, specifically regarding liability, indemnity, and expertise-based litigation risks.

  • Contractual Fluency: Proven ability to redline complex agreements manually and within CLM tools, with a focus on definitions, payment terms, and warranty protections.

  • Budget Management: Experience managing high-value Capex budgets ($100M+) and understanding the financial impact of commercial terms.

  • Operational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines while supporting high-level stakeholders.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to "translate" complex legal language into actionable business insights.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field.

  • Location & Travel: Based in San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Seattle, WA, or Denver, CO with the ability to work in-office multiple times a week and travel up to 20%.

  • Company Values: Embody the Company values.

Bonus Points:

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification.

  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop or specialized technology infrastructure contracts.

  • Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.

Benefits:
