We’re financing the future of energy

Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.

Our team of 95+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.

An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing

Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.

Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.

We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.

The Role

We're hiring our first dedicated Marketing Operations Associate to expand the capacity of our marketing ops function. You'll report directly to the Marketing Operations Senior Lead and work across the full scope of our operations: managing inbound requests from stakeholders, accelerating roadmap projects, maintaining data quality, and building automation that makes the marketing and commercial teams more effective.

This role is equal parts execution and problem-solving. On any given day you might be building a HubSpot workflow, enriching a prospecting list in Clay, debugging a data quality issue, or using AI tools to automate a manual process. You'll have real ownership from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Own day-to-day marketing operations requests: workflow builds, property management, list creation, campaign setup, and automation troubleshooting in HubSpot

  • Build and maintain prospecting lists using Clay, Apollo, and HubSpot, including data enrichment, email verification, and segmentation

  • Support roadmap projects across lead scoring, lifecycle management, attribution reporting, data hygiene, and system integrations

  • Use AI tooling (Claude Code) to accelerate builds, write scripts, analyze data, and automate repetitive work

  • Maintain and improve data quality across our CRM: deduplication, standardization, enrichment, and property governance

  • Build and optimize HubSpot workflows, sequences, and automation for both marketing and commercial teams, including outbound sequence setup, enrollment criteria, audience building, and performance reporting

  • Support reporting and attribution analysis, helping stakeholders understand pipeline influence and campaign performance

  • Partner with Growth, Commercial, and Partnerships teams to translate their needs into operational solutions

  • Document processes, maintain internal wikis, and help establish repeatable playbooks for common operations

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or a similar function

  • Strong working experience with HubSpot (or comparable marketing automation platform) you've built workflows, managed properties, created lists, and troubleshot issues. You like building things. You'd rather automate a process than do it manually a third time.

  • Experience with data enrichment tools like Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, or similar platforms

  • Comfortable with AI-assisted development tools (we use Claude Code extensively) - this is a core part of how we work. You're curious about AI tools and already using them (or want to be). We use AI daily across our workflow and expect this role to as well.

  • Technical aptitude: you can write basic scripts, work with APIs, use automation platforms (n8n, Make.com, Zapier), and aren't intimidated by JSON or a terminal

  • Strong data instincts: you notice when something looks off, want to find the root cause, and care about clean data

  • Ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders without losing the thread

  • Clear, direct communication style. You can explain a technical decision to a non-technical stakeholder

Nice to Have

  • HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, or Clay certifications

  • Experience in financial services, energy, or B2B marketplace environments

  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Omni, Looker, Tableau, or similar)

  • Experience with Linear, Asana, or similar project management tools

  • Background working with commercial/sales teams in a high-growth environment

  • Experience building or maintaining lead scoring models

What We Bring

  • Base salary and bonus ranging between $110,000 - $140,000

  • Competitive equity package in the form of stock options

  • Healthcare benefits, including dependent coverage

  • Remote-first company with quarterly onsite meetings

Our values

  • Care for each other: We want to work on a team where people support each other - in their growth, in their work, and towards our shared mission. When we do that, we have fun.

  • Build and improve rapidly: The thing we can best control is our pace of learning and pace of execution. We can’t control the market, regulators, or what competitors do. One of the best ways to move rapidly is to focus, and consistently ask ourselves if we are prioritizing the right things and executing them as best as possible.

  • Focus unremittingly on customers: Developers, manufacturers & their advisors are doing critical work to accelerate renewable energy development. Our obligation is to them first, and we must keep their needs front & center in everything we do.

  • Demonstrate ownership: We are all owners of Crux. This is our team, our company, our product and we show that to each other.

  • Convene a team that reflects the breadth of experiences in the country: We expect everyone to actively help us build a team where people of all backgrounds can thrive. This applies in hiring, people policies, how we interact - and connects closely with caring for each other.

We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.
