At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Your Mission:

At Heart Aerospace, we’re shaping the future of sustainable aviation with the ES-30 — a regional hybrid-electric airplane designed for a greener world. We’re seeking Mechanical Design & Structures Interns passionate about aircraft design, materials, and engineering fundamentals. Perfect for students pursuing Aerospace, Mechanical, or related degrees.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the design and development of aircraft structures (fuselage, wings, empennage, etc)
  • Support CAD modeling using Siemens NX
  • Implement changes to the design based on structural analyses (static, dynamic, fatigue, etc)
  • Learn and support FEA modeling with tools like Nastran, Patran, Abaqus, or ANSYS
  • Assist with structural test planning, data collection, and validation
  • Collaborate with engineers on manufacturing support and design troubleshooting
  • Learn composite design principles
  • Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions

What You’ll Learn:

  • How aircraft primary structures go from concept to production
  • Load analysis, structural testing, and mechanical reliability
  • Building and evaluating FEA models
  • GD&T, DFMEA, and fundamental manufacturing concepts
  • How engineering teams collaborate in fast-paced aerospace environments

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and structural mechanics
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (NX)
  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn
  • Passionate about aircraft design and sustainable aviation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of composite materials (carbon, fiberglass) and metallic structures
