About Jetson:

Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy use. We believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better.

Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, yet adoption of solutions like heat pumps remains slow due to cost and complexity. Jetson is solving this by building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company — making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable.

We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. At Jetson, we value people who are excellent at their craft, curious about new tools (including AI), and motivated to continuously improve how work gets done.

The Opportunity:

Procurement at Jetson is more than a cost center — it's a leverage point. Every dollar saved in sourcing, every hour removed from manual work, and every cleaner data point flowing into our systems helps us install more heat pumps, serve more homeowners, and move faster toward a fully electric future.

This is a dual-scope role for someone who thrives at the intersection of procurement execution and modern automation. You'll run the day-to-day buying function — purchasing high-quality materials, maintaining optimal inventory, sourcing reliable suppliers, and negotiating favorable terms — while simultaneously helping build a smarter, faster, AI-enabled procurement department.

You won't just operate the process. You'll improve it. That means cleaning and structuring procurement data, identifying workflows ripe for automation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deploy AI-driven tools that lift the entire organization. The systems you build here will directly shape how Jetson's procurement function scales.

If you're passionate about AI, energized by building systems from the ground up, and equally comfortable closing out a PO as you are mapping a workflow for automation — this role is for you.

What You Will Do:

Core Procurement (the Buyer)

  • Own the full PO lifecycle: Manage every Purchase Order in NetSuite — from creation through vendor receipt and successful delivery — with accuracy, speed, and clean documentation.
  • Negotiate smarter terms: Actively contribute to negotiations on volume pricing, favorable payment terms (reducing reliance on credit cards), and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to secure long-term cost advantages.
  • Keep inventory sharp: Proactively monitor and manage stock levels using NetSuite's reorder point logic and demand signals from HubSpot to maintain high fill rates and support rapid market expansion.
  • Recover every dollar: Maintain meticulous records for claims validation and warranty recovery. This data will directly support the implementation of formal vendor scorecards.
  • Be the vendor operator: Serve as the primary operational liaison with vendors and manufacturers to professionally and firmly negotiate claim settlements, replacements, and credits for quality or warranty failures.

AI Enabler (the Builder)

  • Clean and structure procurement data: Audit vendor, SKU, pricing, and transaction data across NetSuite, HubSpot, and supporting systems. Build the clean data foundation that every automation and scorecard depends on.
  • Automate the repetitive: Identify high-volume, rules-based workflows — PO creation, invoice matching, claim tracking, reorder flagging, vendor follow-ups — and partner with internal teams to automate them using AI and workflow tools.
  • Deploy AI into the daily workflow: Pilot, test, and roll out AI solutions (LLMs, document extraction, forecasting, agent-based tools) that reduce manual work and improve decision-making across the procurement function.
  • Scale the way we work: Improve the processes, playbooks, and tooling the procurement team uses as Jetson expands into new markets and new product lines.
  • Champion AI across the org: Work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Technology so the wins from procurement automation ripple outward — every stakeholder reaps the fruit of this initiative.
  • Measure and iterate: Define the metrics that matter (cycle time, PO accuracy, fill rate, recovered claim dollars, hours saved by automation) and report progress transparently.

What You Bring:

  • 2–4 years in purchasing, procurement, or a technical claims role.
  • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
  • A genuine passion for AI — not just curiosity. You actively explore new tools, experiment with LLMs and automation, and think about how AI can reshape the way procurement runs.
  • Strong data hygiene instincts — you see a messy vendor list or inconsistent SKU field and immediately want to fix it at the source.
  • An “eagle eye” for contracts and fine-print warranty clauses.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to remain professional but firm when disputing denied claims.
  • Ability to calculate ROI and evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) beyond just the initial purchase price.
  • Comfort working across functions — you can translate procurement pain into a problem statement that technology, finance, or operations partners can act on.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in HVAC and home electrification.
  • CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Background in technical support or basic mechanical understanding (helpful for describing defects to vendors).
  • Hands-on experience with automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n), scripting (Python, SQL), or building with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, agent frameworks).
  • Exposure to building vendor scorecards, supplier segmentation models, or demand forecasting workflows.
