About Nevoya:

Nevoya is North America's leading next-generation electric trucking carrier, transforming logistics through AI-native operations and relentless customer focus. The company builds and uses proprietary technology to deliver zero-emissions carrier services to Fortune 500 shippers with superior economics and service to legacy diesel operators. The company has operations in California and Texas, and is backed by globally-renowned investors including Lowercarbon Capital.

About The Role:

Nevoya is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead our team of Dispatchers while remaining hands on with real time freight operations when the business needs it. This role owns the overall performance of the dispatch function, ensuring loads move on time, drivers are supported, and service levels stay high across our electric trucking fleet. You will set daily priorities, coach dispatchers through complex or escalated situations, and step directly into the dispatch seat during peak volume, callouts, or urgent operational issues.

The ideal candidate has a strong dispatch background and is equally comfortable managing people and managing freight. You should be a natural problem solver who can coach others to make sound decisions while also being willing to jump in and make those decisions yourself when time is short. This role requires someone who can balance the big picture, staffing, KPIs, process improvement, with the granular reality of moving loads, planning EV charging, and keeping drivers compliant and informed.

Success in this role means a dispatch team that runs smoothly with minimal escalations, consistently meets operational targets, and can flex to handle unexpected disruptions without missing a beat.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Junior and Senior Dispatchers, including performance feedback and skill building

  • Set daily and weekly dispatch priorities and workload distribution across the team

  • Step in to personally assign and coordinate loads, manage schedules, and troubleshoot issues during high volume periods, callouts, or urgent situations

  • Serve as the escalation point for issues dispatchers cannot resolve independently

  • Communicate with drivers, brokers, and vendors to resolve complex scheduling, routing, or compliance issues

  • Monitor Hours of Service compliance across the fleet and ensure the team is enforcing it consistently

  • Oversee EV charge planning strategy to prevent delivery delays across the fleet

  • Review and maintain accuracy of dispatch systems and TMS data across the team

  • Track, analyze, and report on team level KPIs including on-time rates, empty miles percentage, load assignment turnaround, and compliance scores

  • Identify trends in operational issues and drive process improvements to prevent recurrence

  • Build and update dispatch policies and standard operating procedures as needed

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new dispatchers

  • Partner with Operations leadership on staffing needs, shift coverage, and scheduling

  • Ensure smooth shift handoffs and continuity of coverage across time zones as needed

What You'll Bring To The Table:

  • 4+ years of logistics or dispatch experience, including experience leading or mentoring others

  • Proven ability to manage a team while remaining hands on with day to day dispatch work

  • Strong working knowledge of freight industry standards, processes, and compliance requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced IT proficiency and comfort with logistics and dispatch technology platforms

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex operational issues independently and under time pressure

  • Experience setting and tracking KPIs and holding a team accountable to targets

  • Adaptability to fast changing priorities, processes, and policies

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, especially when managing multiple concurrent issues

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience managing dispatch operations for an EV or sustainable transportation fleet

  • Familiarity with dispatch and tracking platforms

  • Experience coordinating dispatch teams or freight movement across multiple time zones
