Senior Project Engineer – Clean Lithium Technology
Play a key role in delivering pilot plant upgrades and delivering international industrial technology packages for a clean tech company transforming lithium refining.

We’re at an exciting stage of growth and are looking for a highly capable Senior Project Engineer to support critical engineering projects across our Australian operations and major international project pipeline.
This is a practical, delivery-focused role where you’ll work across technical coordination, project execution and stakeholder management to help bring Novalith’s technology closer to commercial scale.

What You’ll Do
As Senior Project Engineer, you’ll plan, coordinate and deliver project and engineering activities across Novalith’s technology development and project execution work. You’ll be trusted to manage complexity, coordinate technical inputs and help turn Novalith’s technology into scalable engineering outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and support project engineering for domestic technology development projects, including planning, design coordination, documentation, delivery support and site-based problem solving.
- Coordinate technology vendor packages for Novalith’s major international project, including scope definition, technical reviews, procurement support and vendor interface management.
- Provide project services to engineering concepts, feasibility inputs, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, budgets, simulations and models.
- Support procurement, engineering management and project controls for large capital project feasibility studies.
- Work with internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers and vendors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and keep project deliverables moving.
You’ll also support pilot plant equipment development, review technical documentation, analyze project data, contribute to reports and help build internal engineering capability.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced project engineer who enjoys working across technical delivery, stakeholder coordination and complex engineering environments.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline recognised by Engineers Australia, ideally chemical engineering.
- 7+ years’ experience in engineering design, project engineering and/or project management.
- Experience on complex engineering projects, ideally in chemical processing, minerals processing, hydrometallurgy, battery chemicals, industrial process plants or related sectors.
- Experience with process plant development, plant upgrades, R&D, technology scale-up, vendor packages or capital project feasibility studies.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Project, Aspen, AFT, AutoCAD or related engineering software will be valuable. CPEng membership, or the ability and commitment to obtain it, will be highly regarded. A current Class C Drivers License is required.
