Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy.

We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems.

Job Overview:

As Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for all accounting and financial operations activities within the Accounts Payable function at Pacific Fusion. You will work to build and optimize processes and enable the engineers and scientists across the organization as they bring our demonstration system online.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee all aspects of accounts payable within our procure to pay tool, Coupa

· Execute a monthly close process for accounts payable including all accruals, reconciliations and budget to actuals analysis

· Create weekly cash reporting to reflect committed spend

· Work across the finance team to update the corporate forecast each quarter

· Drive efficiency across the procure to pay business processes

· Process Use Tax and Property Tax returns

Qualifications:

· Experience with Coupa Pay

· Experience owning the end to end month end close process for accounts payable at a hardware company

· Experience creating new operational processes and ensuring continued improvement of those processes over time

· Experience working with engineers and scientists to enable expedient, secure purchasing processes

Preferred but not required:

· Experience in a public company SOX environment

· Experience working in a startup

· CPA, MAcc or other applicable advanced licensing or education

· Experience working in industries such as: fusion, energy, aerospace, automotive or manufacturing

· Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&D technology organizations

Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location. This range is for base salary, our total compensation includes equity and benefits. We welcome you to apply even if your expectations are outside our listed range.
