About the Job
The final stage in producing our nodes is a full system integration. At this stage, we are outfitting our node structure with our electromechanical subsystems and payloads, with simultaneous activities happening inside and outside the node. We’re looking for someone to coordinate the chaos into a time-bound orchestrated event, working closely with our fabricators and engineers to ensure safe, smooth, high-quality execution every time.
The person will need the technical background and experience to be able to make decisions on-the-floor, manage a dynamic hour-by-hour schedule, and provide meaningful progress updates to leadership and the broader team. Your scope will include tooling & kitting preparation, workplan sequencing, readiness reviews, and integration event execution. An excellent candidate will shift seamlessly between solving the problem of the moment and mapping the next day’s/week’s/month’s work, and will ensure nothing falls through the crack
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive execution plans for final integration activities at our fabrication site prior to node shipment and any pier-side equipment changes and integration activities required during node lifespan
- Lead integration execution work through start/end-of-shift team meetings, consistent site presence, and on-call availability during integration periods
- Develop and manage the entry and exit criteria for successful integration, including GSE readiness, safety planning, and hardware availability
- Maintain consistent internal reporting on work progress, problem statements, and team successes
- Ensure lessons learned are seamlessly integrated into upcoming integration activities
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience directly involved with integration or commissioning planning and execution for complex hardware systems (i.e. automobiles, aerospace vehicles, ships, manufacturing lines, etc.)
- 4-6 years of experience working cross-functionally with technical teams to deliver a hardware product
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated project delivery against aggressive timelines
- Experience leading readiness reviews and retrospectives
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related field
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with naval systems, including steel structures, electronics/avionics systems, pressure vessels, and marine coatings
- Experience creating or customizing workflows to facilitate executional excellence in projects managed on an hour-by-hour time scale
The above qualifications are desired, not required. We encourage you to apply if you are a strong candidate with only some of the desired skills and experience listed.
Compensation and Benefits:
If hired for this full-time role, you will receive:
- Cash compensation of $160,000 - $200,000
