About the Role

As Safi's Supply-Side Account Manager in West Africa, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and continually improving Safi's supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Seller Acquisition: Proactively identify and engage potential sellers specializing in plastics, metals, and fibre across Africa to expand Safi’s supplier network. Utilize market research and industry trends to pinpoint high-value targets for acquisition.

  • Account Management Excellence: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sellers, ensuring they consistently choose Safi for competitive transactions. Regularly evaluate seller performance and provide tailored support to optimize their sales prices and volumes on our platform.

  • Revenue Growth and Retention: Strategically increase the revenue generated from each seller by enhancing their engagement with our marketplace. Implement initiatives to grow the share of wallet and encourage repeat business through Safi.

  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Design and negotiate long-term sales contracts with high-potential sellers to secure a stable supply of materials for Safi’s marketplace. Ensure contracts are favorable and adhere to both parties’ strategic goals.

  • Platform Adoption and Utilization: Encourage and facilitate the transition of sellers to self-service on the Safi platform, maximizing their use of its features. Conduct training sessions and create resources to aid sellers in adopting and benefiting from the platform.

  • Feedback Loop and Product Enhancement: Serve as the voice of the sellers within Safi, gathering and prioritizing feature requests and feedback to the product teams. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the platform evolves in line with seller needs and industry demands.

Requirements

  • Proven Business Development Success: Demonstrable track record of exceeding business development targets within the recycling or a related industry over the last 3 years. Include specific achievements and metrics to showcase success.

  • Leadership and Early Recognition: Evidence of rapid career progression and early promotions, highlighting leadership capabilities and a high degree of initiative.

  • Industry Innovator: Enthusiasm for leveraging technology to disrupt and transform the recycling industry. A strong understanding of digital marketplaces and how they can revolutionize traditional business models.

  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating contracts and fostering strong professional relationships.

  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical abilities to assess market conditions and develop strategies that align with corporate objectives. Ability to make data-driven decisions to benefit the company and its stakeholders.

  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Quick to adapt to new technologies and industry trends, with a keen interest in continuous learning and professional development.
