About Storio
Storio Energy develops and operates Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) for large electricity consumers in France.
We provide a turnkey service, working with our clients from initial feasibility studies, to permitting, procurement, installation, and a seamless operation of the assets during their 15+ years of life using our in-house Energy Management System.
We raised a 5M€ seed round from Lowercarbon Capital (#1 climate tech fund globally), Bpifrance and seasoned energy entrepreneurs like the CEOs of Greenly, Electra, Bump and Enspired, with the ambition of becoming the leading developer and operator of behind-the-meter BESS in France and then Europe. Our team gathers experts from EDF Renewables, NW Group, Agregio Solutions as well as repeat entrepreneurs and seasoned engineers from the AI space.
Our vision is to enable a world entirely powered by sustainable, low-carbon energy, at an affordable price. Our mission is to help our clients come out as winners of the ongoing energy transition, by enhancing their competitivity and resilience to increasingly volatile electricity prices.
The opportunity
As a storage valuation engineer, you’ll work with our clients to estimate the savings and revenues that a BESS can generate according to our digital twin simulation. You’ll produce business plans and sales presentations, sensitivity analysis and financial models, as well as expert content used in blog posts and marketing materials.
This position requires a mix of analytical, presentation and communication skills. It will make of you an expert in energy storage and energy markets in general.
Your work will be critical to driving the sales cycle and establishing Storio as a trustworthy business partner. You’ll be the beating heart of a fast-paced sales team, driven by the ambition to make Storio the European leader providing energy storage as a service to industrial clients.
Responsibilities
Run digital twin simulations to estimate the savings and revenues generated by our projects, based on our clients data (electricity consumption/production, grid connection constraints, electricity and grid tariffs). Turn these simulations into customer-facing presentations, business plans and sensitivity analysis.
Present these analysis to prospects, in tandem with a member of the sales team. Iterate on the business plan and its hypothesis based on our clients feedback.
Contribute and improve our sales engineering processes and tools (including the digital twin simulator coded in Python) to address our customer’s needs, take into account new regulations, and make our team more efficient.
Produce technical marketing materials such as customer stories, market analysis, regulations change.
Review opportunities for Storio in other markets by analysing local energy market practices as well as competitive landscape.
You will also have exposure and work with other teams at Storio on both operational and strategic topics, related to the control and optimization of BESS (product team), our capacity to finance projects (finance team), and building an accurate model of the costs of a project (operations team).
