Searching for a role in Tech for Good? Or just looking for a more fulfilling career? At UNDO we are on a mission to tackle the greatest challenge of our time: climate change, and a role in our engineering team could be exactly the opportunity you’re looking for!
We are a fast-growing for-profit (but 100% mission driven) business that is already one of the biggest carbon removal companies in the world. But this is only the start - we have ambitious plans aligned with great funding, excellent people and an inclusive team. Join us and be part of something huge.
About the role
Thanks to our industry leading operations, science and commercial teams, UNDO is already at the forefront of carbon removal – pioneering the development of Enhanced Rock Weathering as an affordable, highly scalable approach that will comprise a major part of the solution we need to tackle climate change.
One of the key foundations for our success is our end-to-end tech solution, and we are now looking for a senior product software engineer to join the team and drive the evolution of our platforms from MVP to the global scale SaaS platforms necessary to support the company’s exponential growth over the coming years.
- We are a small team managing a variety of products from our bespoke operational management platform for Enhanced Rock Weathering to our custom in-field hardware and data pipelines
- Our engineers are product focused and autonomous. Working in a flat structured agile team to specify, design, implement and maintain our solutions
- We aim for Engineers to continually develop their interests but manage this against the realities of product deadlines and the dynamic landscape of a tech startup
- We’re a product company motivated by building solutions to deliver for our users’ needs - we don’t tend to encounter the gnarliest technical problems and although we’re engineers by trade we look at the best solution for the product. This could mean building custom solutions or leveraging no/low code solutions
About you
- You are passionate about our objectives and goals as a company and driven by the opportunity to have real impact on a global scale in the fight against climate change.
- We mainly use C#, Python and reactJs. Experience with one of these is ideal but an eagerness in learning them is more important. We also aim to use the right tool for the job so we are not limited to these languages.
- You are experienced in designing and architecting full stack software solutions.
- You are an adept problem solver with a growth mindset. You aren’t phased by technical challenges that you haven’t faced before and have a proven track record of quickly learning new technologies and implementing the most pragmatic solutions.
- You have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and cloud services.
- You understand testing and see it as part of the software development life cycle from unit testing to production end to end tests
- You are opinionated but value the input of others, and work great both in a team and independently.
- You are excited by the idea of working in a small agile team at a startup, taking on a diverse range of technical challenges and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders outside of the tech team; you aren’t thrown by uncertainty and changes of direction.
- In addition you have experience of at least some of the following.
- Building, deploying and maintaining global, production SaaS software.
- Building, deploying and maintaining software solutions in Azure.
- Data engineering and working with data processing, data pipelines and analytics tools.
- Database application development.
You must have a permit to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorship at this time.
Working environment
- We have an amazing office in County Hall in central London -- under the London Eye and overlooking the river. We recognise that there is no substitute for in-person time together and are looking for someone who is happy to work hybrid, in the office at least two days a week.
