With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle and associated battery swap network to drive a better experience for our customers.The RoleZeno is looking for a detail-oriented, execution-focused Junior Accountant to support daily financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and uphold regulatory compliance in a fast-growing e-mobility organization.This is a hands-on role reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial integrity, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the business.What You’ll Do:Financial Transaction Processing: Record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system, ensure completeness of supporting documentation, process approved cash, bank, and M-Pesa transactions including oversight of petty cash floats, and raise sales invoices and eTIMS receipts in compliance with regulatory requirements.Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Maintain accurate supplier invoice records, ensure timely payment processing, manage debtors’ and suppliers’ accounts with proper reconciliation and follow-up, and verify expense claims with supporting documentation to facilitate timely reimbursements.Reconciliations & Financial Controls: Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, cash balances, debtors, suppliers, inventory, and control accounts, support the implementation and maintenance of financial controls including end-of-day and end-of-month procedures, and identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns including payroll, operating, and business taxes within statutory deadlines while ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and generate ad-hoc reports providing insights into financial performance and expense trends.Asset & Records Management: Maintain and update the fixed asset register while ensuring proper custody and organized filing of accounting records and supporting documentation.Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and responding promptly to audit queries.Team Support & Special Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support finance-related initiatives and perform ad-hoc tasks or special projects as assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO.What you bring:Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.CPA/ACA qualification (or equivalent) highly desirable; candidates at Intermediate CPA/ACCA level will be considered.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial accounting roles with progressively increasing responsibility.Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS) and local tax regulations.Experience with Odoo is an added advantage.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization.Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, scaling environment.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based incentives tied to portfolio quality and growthCompany-sponsored healthcare planOpportunity to shape and scale a high-impact mobility financing modelWork alongside a dynamic team driving financial inclusion and asset ownership
